Uninstalling or Reconfiguring OPE on Windows NT/98
How to uninstall OPE
You can uninstall ObjectStore OPE on Windows NT or Windows 98 by following these steps:
- Log in as Administrator or as a user in the Administrators group.
- Double-click on the Un-Install icon in the ObjectStore OPE Program Group.
- Follow the steps indicated by the utility.
- When the utility finishes, restart your computer.
- In some cases, the uninstall utility might not completely remove the OPE installation directory. If this is the case, you should manually delete the OPE installation directory after restarting your computer.
Reconfiguring OPE
There are several situations in which you might need to reconfigure your OPE installation using the OPE Setup/Config utility in the OPE Program Group. Make sure you have exited from all OPE tools before using the utility.
- If you need to change the network location you specified for OPE's application schema database during installation, select Configure OPE Application Schema Path to indicate a new network path. See "Is an ObjectStore Server running on your machine?" for more information.
- If you need to manually create a Windows Services entry for OPE's supplied Cache Manager, select Remove/restore ObjectStore Cache Manager service. It should not be necessary during normal operation to use this option, because OPE automatically uses its own demand-loaded Cache Manager or the one supplied by an ObjectStore installation on the same computer.
